Light and Table Symbiosis

In what way does an object alter its appearance through the effect of light alone? The table surface is the dividing plane between the visible, consciously perceived room and the detached, eliminated sphere below.The light that is lowered through the table breaks through this frontier and fills the space under the table with light.The table acts as a dimmer switch. The deeper the light submerges into this displaced space, the weaker becomes the light above the table and the more Dionysiac the activities (the after-dinner cigarette, the digestives).
