The Nature of Things

The symbolic functions of a vase lamp are far more important than it´s practicle use. The archetypal vessels create an atmosphere of security, trust, give us the feeling of full stock camps, of prosperity. Very briefly they calm us. They are so familiar to us that they are not perceived by the collective consciousness. These everyday objects can follow their real tasks unconsciously.
Our proposal is to design a contemporary formulation of the vase lamp. Focusing on the vase, the vessel. Not concealed from a lampshade but illuminated and in it´s meaning emphasized.
It is not our primary intention to communicate our knowledge about the unaware tasks of the vase but to define a new category of objects which uses this knowledge and reintroduce this mysterious product to the contemporary interior.
